UNEP RECEIVES $300 USD GRANT FROM IASL

The University of Northeastern Philippines has just been awarded a $300 USD grant from the International Association of School Librarianship Inc. (IASL), an international aggrupation of school librarians based in Zilmere, Australia. The grant is intended to purchase library books for the High School Department of the University and shall improve the reference collection as well as books on science, literature, mathematics and computer science. This grant has been awarded through the efforts of the University Chief Librarian Ms. Herminigilda H. Salazar.

The two other awardees of the grants are libraries in Nyanza Province in Kenya, and another school library in Harare, Zimbabwe. Information about the association is available at http://www.iasl-slo.org.
